The vehicle owner generally has a few hours to act and chisel them off with Coca Cola or other mild abrasive. As he commented, it's really a pain, but at least the bugs die happily.

yuck!!!! the question is....do they stain and smell like the lake flies??
That had to take a ton of bug remover to get them all off.....
My guess is that the birds are very very fat when the love bugs are around.
Actually, birds, fish, etc. hate the bugs. As the linked article said, one observer witnessed a fish spit one out! It's like caraway seeds...why ruin perfectly good bread?
